Description

This Autographed Dated January 14, 1966 On Southern Christian Leadership Conference Letterhead 8.5x11 Letter has been Personally Signed by Martin Luther King Jr.. This item is 100% Authentic to include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) / hologram by Beckett Authentication Services. The authenticity can be verified on Beckett Authentication Services website. Transcript of the letter: "I was sorry to learn of the plight of your relative, Senor Gregorio Pedro Garcia Y Garcia, in his incarceration in a Cuban prison, especially in light of his indicated poor health. I feel my capacity to assist him is limited by my lack of awareness of the particularities of his case and by the fact that I am not a citizen of Cuba. Have you contacted the United States State Department? It seems to me that that agency would be much better equipped to give you information as to how to proceed than I am, given my limitations in this area." In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing, intersecting folds, and some light staining to the lower left corner. Unfortunately the fate of the incarcerated Gregorio Pedro Garcia Y Garcia remains unknown.
