Philadelphia; June 22, 1787. A certificate documenting the land transfer of "a Certain Tract of Land called 'Hemp Hill'... in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County... Containing Two hundred and twenty three Acres and Sixty eight perches" from John Shaw to James and Hannah Fisher, Owen and Mary Jones, and Martha Wharton "in Witness whereof His Excellency Benjamin Franklin Esq. President of the Supreme Executive Council..." Paper seal embossed with the official Seal of the State of Pennsylvania at upper left recto. Franklin signs as president in the left margin, "B. Franklin." Countersigned by James Trimble "for John Armstrong junr Sy."
